Cementarnica USJE AD Skopje participated in the National-Consultative Meeting on trends & perspectives of the civil sector and its role in the promotion of sustainable development in the urban areas in the country
17.03.2010, Skopje – The joint cooperation between the institutions, the business sector, the NGO’s and all other involved parties towards finding solutions to the environmental issues was the main aim of the one-day national-consultative meeting organized by the Regional Center for Environment Protection. The meeting, which focused on the trends and perspectives of the civil sector and its role in the promotion of the sustainable development in the urban areas in the country was opened by the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Nedzati Jakupi, who emphasized the importance of the NGO sector in their efforts for environment preservation.
Presenting our experiences and contributions towards sustainable development of our environment, the Chief Executive Director of Cementarnica USJE AD Skopje, Anthony Nicolopoulos, illustrated USJE’s successful cooperation with the NGOs and the local authorities in the spheres of environment and education.

Our principle of sustainable development means that we cooperate with all our stakeholders and partners in this field with one joint aim: clean and healthy environment, since we owe this to the new generations', Nicolopoulos emphasized in his presentation.
USJE has traditionally supported projects for environmental preservation together with the local authorities and the NGO sector. Every year the Company organizes actions for horticultural design of the primary schools and the kindergartens in the Municipality of Kisela Voda, while USJE actively participates in the action of “Tree Day” and it regularly plants seedlings within the Company's area and several other locations in the Municipality.
