We understand that successful health and safety management means integrating solid principles and
practices in the day-to-day management and that good results are achieved through the joint efforts of
all employees. USJE's approach to reducing workplace accidents is a constant joint effort of the
entire management and all employees.
The ultimate goal of all of USJE's efforts is to achieve a safe and healthy work environment and performance
with zero accidents in our overall work.
SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO HEALTH AND SAFETY
We apply a systematic approach to health and safety in order to achieve continuous performance improvement.
HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAININGS
We are working to develop self-awareness among the employees and promote a health and safety culture. We provide induction health and safety training to all new employees, associates, contractors and visitors, and our employees go through training on various aspects of health and safety at workplace. We conduct internal campaigns that promote the importance of this issue and reward the employees' commitment in health and safety. We have a developed system of reporting, investigating and analyzing incidents, and we conduct regular annual internal and external safety audits, which are performed by trained auditors.
CONTRACTOR HEALTH AND SAFETY EVALUATION SYSTEM
We implement a contractor health and safety evaluation system and we encourage all our collaborators to set higher standards in this area and branch out the good practices.
CENTRAL COMMITTEE ON HEALTH AND SAFETY
The commitment to this topic is also manifested through the work of the Health and Safety Management Committee as the highest health and safety management body in Cementarnica USJE. The Committee consists of the Chief Executive Director, the Technical Director, the Health and Safety Manager, all technical managers, the president of the union and the employee's health and safety representatives. It provides strategic and tactical guidance as well as initiatives to improve, upgrade the system and fully implement the Group's health and safety policy.
HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ISO 45001
We follow the Group's specific guidelines and instructions for safety at workplace, and we have also introduced the health and safety management system OHSAS 18001. We set annual targets for health and safety at work and monitor the indicators.
